Bulk-lot scan · count · valuation-evidence pass — working codename LOT LENS (Black Cell program BSC-001). Experimental; nothing here buys, sells, or lists.
Cards stay in their sleeves. Always. Epson-class feeder scanners (ADF) only work with bare cards — a card has to come out of its sleeve to go through one. This house's cards stay sleeved, so LOT LENS never asks for a feeder and never asks you to unsleeve anything. Every scan here is a phone photo of the card as it sits — sleeved, in the stack, in the box. Sleeves cause glare and soft edges; when a sleeved photo can't be read honestly, the card is REFUSED with the cause printed — never guessed, never "fixed" by taking the sleeve off. A crowded or occluded frame is a refusal, not a failure.
Line 1 of every capture, before any photo (the IM-1 rule). Pick what this lot is:
Slabs: the label QR carries the cert — that's the fast lane. Comics and "other" are refused by design in this demonstrator (the dialects aren't built); medium is still recorded so the refusal is honest.
Slow riffle video or box photos. A pile pass can only ever produce counts, classes, and names that surface — never a per-card inventory. Rows from a pile pass are graded PILE-CLASS. Type what the pass showed; the app does not invent counts.
Full-card frame + bottom-strip close-up (+ the back where the dialect needs it). Works best on the hits the pile pass surfaced. Take the photos with the card still sleeved.
On-device OCR: not measured yet on this device — press “Measure on-device OCR” in the session panel after snapping a frame. If it fails the honesty bar, the shipping shape is decode + desk OCR (IM-1), and the app says so on its face.
A card shows a dollar value only when its exact identity and exact grade match a VERIFIED-PAID row in the house's Verified Comp Ledger snapshot. Everything else prints NO VERIFIED VALUE with the snapshot date. Asking prices, price stickers, and guide numbers have no field anywhere in this app — they cannot be entered or printed. As of this snapshot the ledger's HOUSE VALUE graduation stands at 0/313, so most lookups honestly come back empty. That is the rule working, not the app failing.
